"The Fairy Door Messenger" (Acrylic on stretched canvas 30cm x 30cm)
A bit about the painting:
I have always had a fascination with the idea of doorways in trees. I recall as a child exploring different places in nature and if a tree looked as though it had a doorway I was instantly intrigued by it.
This was before the concept of a "fairy door" was even known to me.
I have called it The Fairy Door Messenger, because the owl is a symbol of receiving messages from the unconscious mind, also if you are lucky enough to see such a beautiful creature in nature, I believe they are messengers for us. I know for myself when ever I have seen an owl which has been on the very rare occasion, it has always been a harbinger of change and wisdom in my life.
So that is the symbolic meaning of this painting.
